Itinerary: Uxmal Day 1: Arrival from U.S. into Merida, capital of the Yucatan, and check into your hotel. Early evening meeting with Gregg Braden, welcome and orientation.* Day 2: Drive to Uxmal through the countryside of ancient Mayaland, Yucatan. Check into your hotel where you will spend the next three nights. Intensive meeting time with Gregg. Day 3: Morning meeting with Gregg. Later, experience the famous Mayan complex and ceremonial center of Uxmal. You will view dramatic structures, including the governor's palace and nunnery quadrangle. The spectacular Pyramid of the Magician is particularly mystical and beautiful with mysterious symbols and much more. Day 4: Intensive meeting time with Gregg. Second visit to the extensive site of the Uxmal ruins. Also enjoy a night visit under the stars to this unique site. Experience mystical Palenque surrounded by the rainforest Day 5: Morning departure to Palenque. Stop along the way in Villahermosa to view the famous and unique gigantic Olmec heads. To this day, archeologists are not sure of the meaning of these mysterious statues. Continue to the Palenque vicinity, where you will spend three nights. See the mysterious Olmec heads Day 6: Meeting time with Gregg. Today experience Palenque. This is visually the most impressive Mayan site in Mexico, and to many, this site is the most spiritually powerful as well. The ruins are on a high plateau, surrounded with lush mountain jungle. Inside the temple caverns are the rock slabs that some say were meant for dreaming upon during rituals. Within the ruins here is found the strongest archaeological support for the idea of a link between Mexican and Asian cultures. Strong similarities exist between the temples in Palenque and those at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. There are further similarities between the temples depicted here and the temples in the Hindu and Buddhist India. Agua Azul Day 7: Gathering and meeting time with Gregg. Experience the wonderful nature site of Agua Azul, a series of powerful waterfalls and crystal clear pools. Enjoy swimming in the pristine waters or just relaxing. Day 8: Morning departure for the Chichen-Itza area to attend the “2012” International Conference.
